PLA (Poly-Lactic Acid) is a thermoplastic aliphatic polyester derived from renewable sources, such as corn, cassava, sugarcane, cereals, or sugar beet. By being derived from biological resources, this type of thermoplastic can be biodegradable under the right conditions.
