Why Should I Request Bespoke 3D Printed Samples?

Why should you request a 3D Printed Sample before Buying your next 3D Printer

Neil Sewell

September 4, 2019

If you’ve read our Choosing a 3D Printer blog you’ll have no doubt noticed that there are hundreds of 3D Printers out there. Many will do what you require, but many won’t. Each Brand and 3D Printer tackle different issues and while there are certainly brands out the there like Ultimaker that are extremely versatile there isn’t a 1 size fits all solution.

Speaking to one of our 3D Printing Engineers who has worked in a manufacturing environment can make everything much clearer for you. We ask the right questions to understand your application, surface finish requirements, strength, and size can help you narrow your search down to 1 or 2 options.

Budget

Clearly budget plays a big part in choosing the right printer, but a lot of companies are very suprised how the Return on Investment (ROI) calculations can show significant savings. Typically a 3D Printer pays for iteself within a few months and we are happy to run through this exercise with you.

Just as with a CNC machine, having lots of bells & whistles on the machine can add unnessecary complexity & cost. Pay for what you need, not what you don’t!

Many businesses go to tradeshows to see 3D Printers. This can be useful exercise but can also be very confusing with 100+ companies offering seemingly similar machines. The most important thing with a 3D Printer is the quality of the finished part and the ease and speed of getting that part.
