50001 Youth Training Trust Case Study

The 50001 Training Trust reached out to us at Solid Print when they were in need of a 3D Scanner to help with a restoration project. The Trust is dedicated to the restoration of the historic lifeboat ‘Rotary Service’ with the aim to use it as a youth training vessel to help 12-25 year olds to gain maritime skills.

Using the Leica 3D Scanning(Leica BLK360), we were able to accurately capture both the inside and the outside of the boat in full colour, allowing full trust to show the public the current state of the boat. The Leica BLK360 is a compact 3D laser scanner that uses a 360° laser distance meter and high definition panoramic imaging to create a 3D scanned point cloud of its surrounding environment.
